The Puerta Plata and Punta Cana beaches are surrounded by coral reefs and smooth white sand with many restaurants along the shore, which offers delectable meals. These beaches offer activities such as, deep sea fishing, diving, snorkeling, kite boarding, windsurfing and sailing. Touring boats are also available on some of these beaches with glass bottoms for you to get up close to view the many exotic marine life below the waters. These beaches are public beaches, but they provide the ultimate getaway for an invigorating day at the beach.

With no restrictions, these beaches feature many gift and craft shops nearby along with aquatic sports posts offering lessons. Some of the beaches in Punta Cana are the lovely fine bronze tone sand beach of Uvero Alto with its open area of large waves, at the Macau beach you can do some surfing; and at the Boca de Yuma beach you can get some sumptuous seafood. Most of these beaches in Punta Cana and Puerta Plata have earned the European Blue Flag certification for their pristine waters and lovely sand.

While at Puerta Plata, the beach of Sosua beach boasts a stunning a U shaped bay as this is where the beach frolicking begins in Dominican Republic, this beach is very famous as it is very idyllic for divers, snorkelers with its mixture of turquoise colored waters; the Cabarete beach is a cool and lively coastal beach with many adventurous water sports to do, such as wind surfing; and the Playa Grande beach is a wide spread area with an amazing surroundings that is perfect for romantic strolls and picture taking, or you can just relax on any of the lounge chairs available.
